Individual Pschotherapy & Counseling for Teens through Adults

Welcome

I’m Sonya, a licensed psychotherapist based in Greenwich, CT, and I’m glad you found your way here. These words may be the first time we are meeting, and I hope they speak to you: whatever your reasons for considering therapy, it isn’t always easy to reach out, and I commend your courage to take the first step. Your journey matters - let’s talk and see how I can walk alongside you.

About Sonya

Though I’ve called the East Coast home for over 30 years, my roots are in the Midwest, and that grounding continues to shape who I am today. Growing up, I was deeply involved in both academics and athletics - experiences that laid the foundation for my interest in human behavior and ultimately influenced my path toward becoming a psychotherapist.

During my early academic training, I focused on understanding the developmental and emotional needs of both children and adults. As I entered my clinical work, I found a strong connection with teenagers and young adults and now work with all ages.

Over the years, I’ve developed a style that’s interactive and engaged. I don’t just listen, I ask thoughtful questions, offer honest feedback, and bring in new perspectives (with a touch of humor when it fits). My goal is to create a space that feels supportive, dynamic, and collaborative.

For more than three decades, I’ve worked with individuals and families in Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Rye, Rye Brook, and the surrounding communities in Fairfield and Westchester Counties. In addition to my clinical work, I’ve also volunteered with organizations close to my heart, including the The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education in Stamford, The Den for Grieving Children in Greenwich, The Wolf Conservation Center in New York, and Animal Nation Farm Sanctuary in New York.
